Sunset Island

Sunset Island, in the heart of Ocean City, Maryland, is a neo-traditional village extending into Assawoman Bay. This is a unique infill project for the Delmarva Peninsula. The plan is centered around the community store, which overlooks an interactive fountain near the casting pond. One of the main goals of the project was to provide a public pathway around the entire mile-long perimeter of the project. Each street ends with views of the bay and/or the renovated marina. An indoor swimming facility along with an outdoor recreation pool is located near the beach area.

The nationally recognized firm of Duany Plater-Zyberk (DPZ) provided master planning services while ParkerRodriguez, in close collaboration with DPZ, provides the design of the landscape, streetscapes, public areas, fountains, canals, plazas, entrances, and urban furniture.
