The Commons

This major redevelopment project is located in the heart of Tysons Corner, Virginia, only a few hundred yards from a planned Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA) Metro station. ParkerRodriguez was asked to assist the client in winning approvals, refining the original concept plan by Duany Plater-Zyberk, and developing the streetscape, central plaza and adjacent parks. The site presented substantial grading issues as well as public processing challenges.

The focal point of the development is the Commons, which will be a green lawn plaza surrounded by seating among a bosque of trees, and gardens, all overlooking an elegant fountain.
