300 New Jersey Avenue
Washington D.C.
300 New Jersey is a spectacularly contemporary office building that has extraordinary views of the U.S. Capitol Building two blocks away from the prow of the glass structure.
The project included an at grade pedestrian entry plaza and a rooftop terrace for parties to be used as a lunchtime getaway for all the building’s tenants. The space also includes ample room for parties, conferences, and corporate receptions. Unoccupied portions of the roof host an extensive green roof with a bold geometric pattern.
The design creates a unique terrace experience that leave the visitor with the illusion that they are floating over the building. The use of contemporary materials and large expanses of glass serve to amplify the effect. Vegetated scrims hide mechanical vents and cable railings below the level of the flying bridge deck provide an unobstructed view from deck to sky overlooking the Capitol dome.
