Beechtree Master Plan
Upper Malboro | MD
ParkerRodriguez began developing plans for this 1,200 acre property in 1997 with the final house being delivered in 2020. This major project includes a golf course and trail system built around a 30-acre man-made lake. In addition to home owners and golfers enjoying the wonderful emerald corridors, a carefully planned trail system shares these same corridors and connects to the Collington Stream Valley Corridor Trail that is part of the MNCPPC trail system. Each portion of the planned trail was done in coordination with the county to create a vibrant and diverse route for pedestrians throughout the area.
The trail system is an integral part of the site that connects the major amenities to each neighborhood and a planned commercial center with restaurants and other boutique services. Overlooks, seating areas, and parks are integrated into the trail experience and aided to drive the network and connection points. A future equestrian trail is also included in the overall master plan. PRI provided both planning and landscape architecture services in order to complete this trail system. Existing trees were preserved to the extent possible and the result is a shady beau colic experience in the landscape full of discovery around every turn.
