Fort Totten Square
Washington D.C.
This mixed-use residential project consists of two private courtyards with an abundant collection of amenities. Programmatically, the north courtyard serves as the active amenity space, featuring grilling areas and a two-level pool. The south courtyard is more passive and garden-like with opportunities for yoga and smaller, more private seating areas.
Residents enter the north courtyard via a wood deck flanked by gracefully arching bamboo and lead to the pool where cascading water flows from the main pool basin over tile and onto a shallow sun shelf. Brightly colored lounge chairs encircling the pool provide ample space for residents to kick back and relax.
In the south courtyard, a rubberized fitness surface and lawn provide opportunity for outdoor yoga. A custom feature wall and outdoor TV allow residents to gather for movie nights or sporting events with friends and neighbors. Custom metal perforated panels complete the space and screen the gathering space of the courtyard from the pool beyond.
