The Grandview Senior Living
Bethesda | MD
Erickson Senior Living acquired the 33-acre Marriott International Headquarters in Bethesda, Maryland to redevelop into a new urban continuing care retirement community with more than 1,200 units of independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled care.
The Grandview campus is being designed and built in phases. Hord Coplan Macht is currently completing design for Phase 1, which includes two 12 story independent living residential high-rise buildings, a parking garage and the 5,000 sf Marketing Center, which serves as the “welcome kiosk” (as opposed to a gatehouse) and will become a permanent part of the community commons.
ParkerRodriguez has been involved throughout the entire project from early master planning studies, entitlements, design documentation, and continues through construction administration. Landscape work undertaken included design of outdoor senior community amenity spaces, 1.75-acre Rock Spring Urban Park, walking and biking trails around the perimeter, and collaboration with environmental specialist Coastal Resources with enhancement of the Thomas Branch Stream Valley Buffer.
