PRI developed landscape architectural services for the residential components of the new Merriweather District in Columbia, MD being developed by the Howard Hughes Corporation (HHC). The 68-acre crescent-shaped parcel of land located adjacent to Merriweather Post Pavilion and Symphony Woods, is envisioned as an urban live/work community, uniquely situated in an environment of natural beauty and will be the focus of the next stage of the revitalization of Downtown Columbia.

The building and landscape are an urban example of contemporary design and complements the unique setting within the highly successful Columbia Town Center. PRI was hired by HHC to design the amenity courtyards for the luxury apartment residents living above retail space base. The courtyard designs offer residents multiple activities including a pool deck with great views of the park and surrounding retail as well as places for social interaction including grilling areas, bars, fire pits, places to watch outdoor TV, games and exercise in the open air.
