Steven finds fulfillment in contributing to all design and coordination aspects of taking projects from early abstract concepts through to well-articulated, fully realized and materially rich built works. He has a design sensibility that is rooted in craftsmanship and attention to detail and this informs his well-considered design decisions through all phases of project development. In practice, Steven strives to weave together spatial relationships, honest and intrinsic material essences, textural richness of tectonic pieces and contextual + environmental aspects to strike a balance between comfort, functionality, and beauty.

In a nearly 14-year career in the design field, Steven has gained valuable professional expertise working on many diverse and complex building types – having worked in both architecture and landscape firms in the DC Metro Area.  Steven joined the PRI team in 2011 and as a technically knowledgeable, diligent, and detail-oriented team member he has made strong design contributions to dozens of landscape development projects including over 25 completed landscape projects within the urban context.

Prior to working at PRI Steven held architectural designer positions at Inscape Studio and Michael Winstanley Architect where he worked on high-end multi-family residential mixed-use projects as well as sustainable-design projects.  In addition, he was proud to hold an Adjunct Faculty Position at Virginia Tech’s Washington Alexandria Architecture Center. The curriculum of the course he co-taught was focused on graphic techniques and representational methods.

Steven is a strong proponent that the Milwaukee Brewers 1978 logo is possibly the best logo in sports history or maybe the cleverest logo ever conceived.  If you aren’t familiar look it up….or alternatively look at the hat he is often sporting in most social situations.
